The Beauty of Beekeeping

Bees are natural pollinators and play a major role in agriculture. Without their hard work, crops such as almonds, apples, berries and some types of beans would disappear. Join second generation beekeepers, Tauzer Apiaries, and discover how they maintain healthy, strong honeybee hives that support the vital food and seed crop systems throughout California.

 The Birth of American Caviar

Take a journey through history and the modern day in caviar production. Called the Pioneer of Sustainable Caviar, Tsar Nicoulai, is a California based company that is committed to providing the cleanest and best caviar while doing it in a way that is mindful of the impact on our planet.  Learn how they sustainably farm American Sturgeon, their grading of different caviars and how to enjoy responsibly at home.

Resilient and Fire Wise Landscapes

Join Sonoma Ecology Center’s Eric Schoohs to learn about creating defensible space and fire-wise landscaping while enhancing biodiversity and wildlife habitat. He’ll give you short tool demos, tips on invasive species, the pros/cons of different practices and volunteer opportunities to help in your community.

1:00 - 2:30
Wander and Learn
Enjoy some wine and food as you wander the property and learn about Falconry, sheep's work in the vineyard and gardening; enjoy a tractor ride through the vineyard.

Bringing it Together

Join our winemaking team for a look at how organic and sustainable farming come together in the bottle. Learn how we keep the soils healthy, manage our water use and what the vines are currently saying about the growing season. There will be time for a Q&A with our winemaking team and share what you have learned throughout the day.
