Our 2019 Sauvignon Blanc, Ram's Gate Estate is the compelling result of a late bud break and well-timed canopy management that extended the growing season into September to present a lush fruit with balanced acidity and the modest alcohol Sauvignon Blanc lovers appreciate.
The journey of our 2019 Sauvignon Blanc, Ram's Gate Estate began with two clone selections that were fermented separately and blended at the bottling stage. The first, Clone 1, dominates the nose with Lychee nut, gooseberry, and honeydew and continues with the Musqué selection that is more delicate and classic, with notes of lemongrass and grapefruit.
Next, we focused on texture, which came to life in a combination of new French oak and neutral oak barrels, and stainless-steel tanks that framed the naturally occurring minerality that can only be improved by the bottle age.
The result? A well-rounded, thriving burst onto the palate.
