Savoring Sensational Sonoma: Harvest, Wine Country Weekend & The Stanley Cup

It’s been quite the fortnight at Ram’s Gate Winery. Harvest is in full swing, with Ulises Valdez Diablo Chardonnay, Bush Crispo Pinot Noir, Estate Chardonnay and Estate Pinot Blanc all brought in last week.

Meanwhile, we had the opportunity to be involved with Sonoma Wine Country Weekend August 29-31. The weekend began with an intimate winemaker dinner Friday evening, hosted by Ram’s Gate Winemaker Jeff Gaffner, Owner Jeff O’Neill and General Manager David Oliver.

Saturday and Sunday were filled with additional Wine Country Weekend events, with Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch and an auction pre-party at Buena Vista, all culminating with the Harvest Wine Auction on Sunday at Chateau St. Jean. The auction raised a record $4 million this year, and we were humbled and astonished to be a part of such an incredible testament to the power of community.

While our auction lot was part of the contributions at Chateau St. Jean, another charitable event was taking place at Ram’s Gate Winery in the form of a member event featuring…

The Stanley Cup at Ram's Gate Winery

The Stanley Cup!

Thanks to a long-time member, Ram’s Gate Winery had the privilege of hosting the Stanley Cup on Sunday. A small group of members enjoyed wine and canapés in our Members’ Library and Oak Room, taking photos with the Cup. All profits from the event were donated to the Sonoma Mentoring Alliance.

All in all, it has been a week of savoring Sonoma: fermenting delicious fruit from Sonoma vines, celebrating with our neighbors at a record-breaking Sonoma auction, sharing the singular Stanley Cup opportunity with our members and supporting local charities along the way.

Now, we look ahead to September as harvest rolls along. We invite you to follow the Sonoma Harvest through the “SCHarvest14” hashtag on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram. We’ll be in touch with more updates and behind-the-scenes action!

Cheers,

Ram’s Gate Winery
