A Note from harvest

As we head into our 10th anniversary of our doors opening to the world, it is with great pleasure that I announce our Fall 2021 wine club release! After a turbulent previous year, I hope this Fall has welcomed back some semblance of normalcy—for me, my kids returned to in-school learning, and we have headed into harvest with hope and excitement for the 2021 vintage.

We kick this release off with one of my favorite single-vineyard Chardonnays that I have been apart of making, the 2019 Chardonnay, El Diablo. Built around the Montrachet selection, the wine is elegant and floral while maintaining a beautiful presence on the palate. Our first Pinot Noir pick of 2018, the El Diablo Vineyard Pinot Noir was fermented 20% whole-cluster which really boosts the rose petal and framboise on the nose. This wine is so textural, with decadent red fruit and baking spice on the palate, this will no doubt be a wonderful pairing for this Fall feasting.

Although most people are familiar with Hyde for Chardonnay, there is also a small planting of Syrah Noir, planted at their ranch in 1994. The 2018 Syrah, Hyde can run the spectrum from savory to fruity depending on the vineyard, Hyde captures both with ease, with hints of prosciutto and the gamey characteristics that Syrah is notorious for. Lastly, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Bismark is grown at the top of Moon Mountain District, overlooking the Sonoma Valley below. Layered with dark plum, graphite and cigar box, this is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon for Sonoma Valley and a delight to cap this release off!

Sending you well wishes from Sonoma,

Joe
