GREEN ACRES VINEYARD
Located south of Sonoma, Green Acres was the first vineyard planted by Vittorio Sangiacomo, the forefather of the family who now has one of the longest legacies of high-quality grape growing in Sonoma County. The site is bordered by Sonoma Creek on the east, with Fowler Creek running through the property, resulting in alluvial soils in which the vines grow.
The “Hill” block of the Green Acres Vineyard, from which the fruit for this Ram’s Gate vineyard designated wine comes, is planted to Old Wente clone Chardonnay, adored by winemakers for its diversity of berry size, higher skin-to-pulp ratio and resulting complexity imparted in the wine.
