Six years after first walking through Ram’s Gate’s doors, Zach Chamberlin returned to the winery when he accepted a position as Hospitality Director in 2018. Having previously worked in every role in the hospitality department, from his first days on the support team back in 2012 to joining the management team and leading the Tasting Hall, Zach knows Ram’s Gate inside and out.
Zach started his career at Ram’s Gate Winery after graduating from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Industry Management in 2012. He immediately fell in love with the unparalleled experience Ram’s Gate offers each visitor to their property. Over the years he has advanced from Wine Guide to Assistant Hospitality Manager, to his position today: Hospitality Director.
In 2015, he became a certified sommelier and a year later left Ram’s Gate to perfect his hospitality skills in his role as Director of Hospitality at Roche Winery. Looking to further his service skills and experience in restaurants, he joined the service team at the Michelin-star rated Single Thread restaurant in 2017. With more experience under his belt, he returned to Ram’s Gate in 2018 where he now oversees the entire hospitality team in their vision to offer every guest a truly personalized experience.
A San Rafael native, Zach lives in Sonoma with his wife and two daughters. When not at Ram’s Gate, he spends his time cheering on the Bay Area sports teams (Go Warriors!), exploring the hiking trails of Sonoma County, and honing his golf game.
