Tasting Notes

The long 2012 growing season, with ample sunshine and warmth, yielded a luxuriant mouthfeel and fragrant aromatics in this Carneros Chardonnay. Delicate floral and green apple notes draw the nose toward a kiss of smoky vanilla, roasted grain and hazelnut. The medium body produces a bright and lean palate of mineral and wet stone, balanced with acidity reminiscent of white grapefruit, fresh juicy peach and clementine. A well-integrated amount of tightly-grained oak carries through to a pièce de résistance of cardamom, tarragon and slate. This fun, enjoyable wine is delightful in its youth; drink now and over the next few years with great joy.
