Ram’s Gate Estate

We could never pick a best-loved vineyard – it would be like picking a favorite child – yet we can’t help but nurture a special place in our hearts for our own estate. These are the vines that surround our winery; the fruit visible from our Tasting Hall doors and Gallery windows.

The Chardonnay vines, planted in 2010, are our own clonal selection, with five clones translating to a palette of styles while staying true to the varietal character that typifies the grape. Almost a decade older, the Pinot Noir vine rows were once nicknamed Los Fuertes – “the strong ones” – after their ability to withstand the blusters of Carneros, which begin like clockwork each day and impart a wind signature into the wine that could only come from our specific Carneros site.
