This morning, a little over nine tons of Pinot Noir were harvested for sparkling wine, the first pick of the 2015 vintage.
We are exactly nine days ahead of Harvest 2014, wherein these same rows of Pinot Noir were picked on August 19th.
We should have about a 7-9 day break before the next fruit lot is ready to be harvested, but that’s one of the beauties of agriculture: the grapes will decide for themselves.
Here’s to the most exciting, hectic, fulfilling time of year.
